An interval timer for split workouts: work, rest, sets, rounds.
Add your exercises, each with its work time, rest time and number of sets. Then set the preparation, the rest between exercises and the number of rounds. The total duration updates as you go.
By exercise, you do all your sets of push-ups before moving to squats. In circuit, you go through each exercise once, then start again from the first - the number of rounds decides how many times. The step-by-step preview, before you start, shows the actual sequence.
Yes. Sound, voice and countdown carry on with the phone in your pocket. The current phase, exercise and remaining time stay visible on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island: you never have to unlock between two sets.
No. The remaining time is recomputed from a due time rather than ticked down second by second: going to the background, taking a call or locking the screen shifts nothing.
The workout is lost: it is not saved as it goes, and you have to start it again from the beginning. As long as the app stays open - including in the background, screen locked, phone in your pocket - the timer carries on normally. Your saved workouts are never at risk.
First check the iPhone silent switch and the volume while the workout is running - it is the media volume that matters, not the ringer. Then check that the voice countdown and beeps are enabled in the app’s settings: the three signals - voice, beeps, haptics - are toggled separately.
It does not cut it off: it lowers it for the duration of the announcement, then brings it back. That is the intended behaviour, so the countdown stays audible without stopping what you are listening to.
Yes. The two buttons either side of pause move to the next step or back to the previous one. Progress and remaining time follow.
Check the “Keep the screen on” setting: it is on by default and prevents auto-lock during a workout, but it can be turned off. With the screen off the timer carries on regardless - sound, voice and the lock screen display do not stop.
From a catalogue of around sixty movements built into the app - bodyweight, or using the equipment you have declared. The workout is assembled on your iPhone from the date, or from the muscle groups, duration and intensity you choose. Nothing is sent over the Internet, and you can regenerate it as many times as you like.
Three, with no time limit and no ads. Cadence Pro unlocks unlimited workouts for €9.99/year, with no commitment. Your three free workouts remain yours if you do not subscribe.
From your App Store account settings: Settings > your name > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for. We cannot cancel on your behalf; the subscription is managed by Apple.
Workouts live on the device. They follow a restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup, but there is no sync between two devices. The subscription does restore: the “Restore my subscription” button on the subscription screen brings it back with the same Apple ID.
No. The app sends us nothing and collects nothing: we have no server that could receive anything. Only the subscription goes through Apple, which checks whether it is active.
The workouts Cadence suggests are generated automatically, for guidance only, without regard to your state of health. You remain the sole judge of the exercises you perform and of their intensity; if in doubt, seek a doctor’s advice.
